Cradle Moon Lakeside Lodge has a variety of different activities to choose from. It is a beautiful lodge located in Muldersdrift next to the Krokodilrivier.

Conservation fee (entry fee): R50 pp *

Activities & Costs: Mountain Biking (R80 pp), Trail Running (R80 pp), Hiking (R80 pp), and Bike hire (R500 per bike)* – all activity rates include the conservation fee.

Restaurant & Bar: They have an on-site restaurant & bar overlooking the river to grab a bite after your hike or cycle.

Accommodation: They provide a wide variety of accommodation options starting at R 1300 pp* sharing, with breakfast included.

Good to know: They do not allow external food or beverages on their premises.

Our Experience at Cradle Moon Lakeside Lodge

Hiking Route:
The trail is well-marked, covering mostly flat terrain with a slight incline and descent toward the end of the hike. Opting for the 9km route, we thoroughly enjoyed the scenery as the trail curved along the Krokodil River. Two bridges allowed us to cross the river, offering picturesque views. We were delighted to spot zebras, giraffes, impalas, and even rhinos from the neighboring property. We will certainly return, as this peaceful hiking route is conveniently located not too far from Johannesburg.

Restaurant:
We’ve visited the riverside restaurant twice. While the food is delicious, the service is exceptionally slow. On both occasions, even though it wasn’t a busy day, our breakfast items took over two hours to be served. Despite the stunning views, the service could improve. Perhaps they were understaffed during both of our visits or we simply had bad luck!
