Food: Stables Café & Black Horse Restaurant

Tasting Hours: Open 6 days a week from Monday to Sunday, except Tuesdays. Tastings are available between 11:00 – 15:00 .

Good to Know: They do not take bookings and can accommodate a maximum of 18 people in the tasting room. Make sure to have a bite before your tasting.

Our Experience Gin Tasting at Black Horse Distillery.

We’ve visited Black Horse several times and attended the Gin Tasting in April 2024. Black Horse is simply a stunning venue, very peaceful between trees and lush green gardens.
Upon sitting down the bartender explained the process to us and handed us a paper with the selections of gin and sours that are available to taste. We selected two sours and six gins and it arrived on a wooden board with a description card of the flavours of the gin / sour and a litre of tonic.

We would definitely advise to eat prior to the tasting otherwise it can be a bit much. We had so much fun and was very surprised with some of the flavours that we liked and others which we expected to enjoy but did not as much. We even tasted a chilli gin. I would definitely recommend going with a friend or your partner, it was such a lovely date experience for us and we would visit again.
